Uba Sani has emerged as the ‘2026 Governor of the Year’ at the National Leadership Awards held in Abuja.

The award recognises his administration’s efforts in improving security, promoting unity, and advancing infrastructure development across Kaduna State.
Organisers of the event commended the governor’s people-focused leadership, noting measurable progress in restoring peace and fostering social cohesion in previously troubled areas.
Presenting the award, Chief BJ Opara, of the National Leadership Summit Group, described Sani’s leadership as exemplary, highlighting his resilience in addressing security challenges and commitment to inclusive governance.
Represented by the Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaƙi, the governor dedicated the award to the people of Kaduna State, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to peace, sustainable development, and unity.
He also pointed to ongoing security reforms, community engagement, and reconciliation efforts as key drivers behind the state’s improved stability and growing public confidence.
